“My name is Grace Tarisayi, and I am a 24-year-old single mother of one child. I come from a family of eight children, where I am the third born. I completed my primary education at Amaswazi Primary School and my Ordinary Level studies at Pumula High School. I currently live with my parents, siblings, and my son. Our family survives through selling vegetables within our community.
I joined the KS-YARC Project because I wanted to remain productive, stay focused and build a better future for myself and my child. Since joining the project, I have gained valuable life skills beyond agriculture. The training has taught me the importance of good conduct, conflict resolution, problem-solving, teamwork and unity. These lessons have improved how I interact with others both within the project and in my personal life.

Like many community projects, we have experienced challenges, including poor communication due to lack of mobile data and inconsistent attendance by some members. Personally, financial constraints have limited my ability to improve myself further.
Despite these challenges, I remain hopeful. I want to continue learning more about horticulture and poultry production while developing sustainable income-generating opportunities. As a group, we aspire to become independent and establish a successful agricultural enterprise. Additional market linkages, practical training opportunities and improved equipment would greatly strengthen our project and increase our chances of long-term success.”
